Rachel Louise Carson(1907~1964),
an American marine biologist, conservationist and writer

After World War II, she turned her attention to conservation, especially widespread use of synthetic pesticides and the result was the book 『Silent Spring』
which made significant progress in environmental movement.
Her belief and commitment to value and dignity of life still remain strong and remind us of the importance of the environment.
Korea Green Foundation supports activities and civic groups with a hall of versatile use, named after her as a token of respect.
