Korea Green Foundation to become a council member of ASOC
Korea Green Foundation became a member and special donor of ASOC on December 20, 2007.
The Antarctic and Southern Ocean Coalition (ASOC) is a global coalition of environmental Non-Governmental Organizations with more than 100 environmental organizations around the world. ASOC has worked since 1978 to ensure that the Antarctic Continent, its surrounding islands and the great Southern Ocean survive as the world’s last unspoiled wilderness, a global commons for the heritage of future generations. ASOC is supported entirely through donations from individual supporters around the world, dues from its members, and grants from foundations.
As a council member, Korea Green Foundation will strive to support and participate in the activities of ASOC in saving the Antarctic Continent and its surrounding ocean. In addition, the foundation will continue to work effortfully to mitigate climate changes in Korea and neighboring Asian nations as well. With this new membership, the foundation’s mission and vision of saving the environment has been reemphasized and Korea Green Foundation will cooperate with fellow members of the coalition to save the Earth from its constant exposure to the threat of Global Warming. |
